Hello. my name is Irry and I’m a concert addict!

I guess it all started with this video which, as cliche as it may sound, changed my life. After watching that performance a million times, I swore to myself I would someday be part of a huge festival like that. (Still hoping.)

My first real live show was Artmania Festival in 2007. Apart from the amazing music I got to hear (among others, Within Temptation and After Forever - two of my all time favourite bands), I got to experience the incomparable feeling of belonging there, among like-minded people. From the music they enjoyed to the way they were dressed, we had so much in common and it was a first for me!

Mostly for geographical reasons, the next two years were somewhat of a dry spell, I only got to go to two or three gigs each year. It all changed in September 2010 though, when I moved to London, an excellent place for all kinds of live music. Now I still don’t go to as many gigs as I would like, but in the interest of not being a walking zombie with no money, I only go to two or three each month.

And we finally get to the purpose of this blog. I’m gonna write concert reviews. They will be awfully personal and sometimes full of squeeing, because I’m a fangirl like that. But I hope that at times I will manage to be coherent and write things that others will find worth reading.

I will also post my old reviews, I do have a bit of a backlog. And I’m hoping to have everything up by March 15th, when my next concert is.
